Tanoan In Albuquerque New Mexico
Tanoan: Pueblo Indians of the Rio Grande valley speak a form of the Tanoan language. Tiwa is one branch of the Tanoan language. A form of the language is shared by the Kiowa Indians.
Tanoan is Albuquerque’s only gated golf course community. It includes several subdivisions offering a variety of home prices, styles and lot sizes. It’s built around the Tanoan Country Club and its 27 hole golf course. It is a private club offering golf, tennis and social memberships. The two associations; East and West Tanoan are very active and membership is required of homeowners in the gated and walled areas of Tanoan.
Tanoan Golf Course
The Sandia Mountains rise dramatically 5,000 feet above the Tanoan Golf Course. Tanoan’s 27 hole Championship Golf Course has three unique, nine-hole layouts, which offer a variety of play by combining into three 18 hole layouts complete with water hazards, elevated greens, bunkers and undulating fairways.

Tanoan is one of the most exclusive communities in New Mexico. Gated security provides safety and a secure environment. The country club offers superb dining facilities. You’ll see some of the most sensational sunsets while enjoying a fastidiously prepared dinner. For the golfer the country club offers a driving range, two putting greens, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a full service golf shop, a casual café and semi-formal dining room. Tanoan also has 14 tennis courts, a junior Olympic-size pool, diving tank, toddler pool and snack bar.
The Tanoan east gate entrance is located north of the Eubank and Academy intersection, on Academy. The east portion of Tanoan is managed by Income Property Services and includes the Tanoan Country Club building, swim, and tennis facilities.
Tanoan West is located west of Eubank on Academy. It is managed by Tanoan West. It includes single family residential and several smaller lot town home and patio home subdivisions.
